Smartphone Photography Workshops

What will the workshop be like?

1) Prior to course you can send in a selection of your own photographs for review.

Yes! Your smartphone camera is that good. In this session, we
will learn all about how to get the most from your camera and begin to
create photographs you will be proud of. I will show you tips and
tricks that will excite you to get out shooting.

TASK : Get out and shoot; put what you are learning into practice! Send
in three photos for review based on the input from this week’s
session. I will give you individual and personalised feedback on your
submitted images.

2) Training your eye as you heighten your visual awareness and
learn how to create visually dynamic compositions and develop your own
personal style of photography. This session focuses on how to see the
elements that come together in the composition of great photographs.
Some of this you are already doing instinctively. By the end of this
session you will be seeing and thinking photographically and on the
way to developing your own personal style.

TASK : Review your own photos. Identify compositional elements you have
been producing and now get out and improve as you try to see what can
be seen and how to see it. Send me your three favourite photographs
for personalised review and feedback.

3) Editing: How to make a good photograph great with
easy-to-follow and achievable steps in editing. Using Snapseed - the
best (and it’s free!) editing app for mobile photography – I will show
you how to make your images stand out and capture your viewer’s
attention. And I will also make it easy for you to correct common
mistakes you may make when shooting.

TASK : Again, get out shooting; put into practice what you are learning
and take some time to work on your editing. Help make your images have
that wow factor. Send me your edited photographs to get constructive
feedback on your process.

4) Showcasing your work. A show and tell. This session is about
presenting your photographs you have made over the past few weeks and
sharing what we all have learnt on the course.

TASK : Continue to express your creativity; continue to learn and share
your photos with the friends you have made on the course.
