Support great photography.

Empower emerging and diverse artists.

Photo Museum Ireland is Ireland’s national centre for contemporary photography. We are dedicated to advancing the development, appreciation and understanding of photography and visual culture across Ireland. We connect diverse audiences with inspirational and exciting photography and visual culture.

Why Your Support Matters

✅ You contribute to long-term artist development — not just exhibitions, but deep collaboration over time. Our commitment to photographers extends from early career to legacy-defining retrospectives.

✅ You make it possible for us to provide artist residencies that offer real support — including time, space, curatorial guidance, and production funding — enabling photographers to create ambitious new work with meaningful impact.

✅ You support landmark projects — like The Light of Day, a major retrospective of Tony O’Shea’s work developed over years of close dialogue and curation, preserving a vital lens on Irish life.

✅ Your support allows us to spotlight overlooked histories — including our groundbreaking work with the archive of Japanese war photographer Akihiko Okamura, revealing untold visual narratives of Northern Ireland during the Troubles.

✅ You help us connect artists to audiences — through touring shows, publications, talks, and workshops that bring photography beyond the gallery and into communities across Ireland.

✅ You help us nurture critical and creative thinking — through education programmes that empower young people and lifelong learners to engage with visual culture in transformative ways.

✅ You support helps us build Ireland’s national photography collection — ensuring the country’s photographic heritage is preserved, celebrated, and accessible for future generations.

✅ You help us to make photography more accessible — from free exhibitions to inclusive programming, we’re committed to breaking down barriers to participation and representation.

As the arts face increasing challenges, your support is more important than ever.

Every contribution – big or small – makes a difference.

What Our Visitors Say

I brought a group of 26 primary school children here on a school tour and can’t recommend it enough! Darragh gave the children (and their teachers!) so much information about photos and photography and they even got to experience the darkroom to learn about the process of developing photos. They really enjoyed the whole experience and we’d love to bring more groups again in the future.

I have visited many excellent exhibitions in the Photo Museum Ireland. I’ve always been met with a friendly welcome by the staff who are also very helpful. I have also attended workshops there two which were brilliant. They were educational and creative.
