Photo Museum Ireland established the Photo Museum Ireland Collection – the national collection for contemporary photography in 2021 to celebrate the work of artists across the span of their careers. Building on our deep commitment to supporting artists in the development and promotion of their work, we will collaborate with artists to preserve their creative legacies for the future. Our vision for the Collection is to define the scope of modern and contemporary Irish photography, honouring past generations and to recognise the achievements of contemporary Irish photographic artists.
To mark the start of the Photo Museum Ireland Collection we have invited a selection of artists to work with us to produce an archive print. The acquisition of the prints is supported by philanthropic donations and marks the first phase of the collecting process which will evolve over the coming years.
