Talents 2025 Catalogue

The official publication of Photo Museum Ireland’s Talents 2025 exhibition, featuring eight emerging Irish photographers whose work spans powerful personal narratives, cultural reflection, and urgent social commentary.

From evocative accounts of the Irish borderlands, to personal narratives of home, memory, and loss, to critical reflections on the state of institutions and society, TALENTS 2025 encompasses a wide range of photographic practices and urgent issues. Taken together they show how photography can address contemporary concerns in a meaningful, timely fashion.

The artists developed their projects through Photo Museum Ireland’s comprehensive artists’ workplace residencies and commissions, which offer tailored support including world-class mentoring, training, curatorial engagement, and specialised production assistance. Residencies represented in the exhibition include the Early Career Artist Awards Residency, African-Irish Residency, and Diversity Residency, showcasing Photo Museum Ireland’s ongoing commitment to fostering new talent and amplifying underrepresented voices.

Photography has always been a powerful medium for reflecting who we are, where we live, and how we imagine the future. Lens on Change brings together the Irish Photo Network partner organisations to present the work of artists whose practices respond to significant issues of: climate action and diversity. Across three panels, artists and curators will share projects that ask how photography can give voice to underrepresented communities, bear witness to environmental transformation, and open space for dialogue and action. This gathering invites us to consider the image not only as a record of change, but as a catalyst for it.
