Bernadette Keating is a visual artist whose practice incorporates photography, video, and text. She completed her postgraduate studies in Photography & Media at the Academy of Fine Arts (HGB) Leipzig, and holds a MA in Documentary Photography from London College of Communications, UAL. Working between a conceptual and documentary approach to image-making, she explores the politics & aesthetics of the built environment, often isolating and focusing on details which are put together in series. In 2022 Lubok Verlag published her artist book ‘Of Bounds’ , which combines a photographic and text-based work, that deals with land reform and the construction of space in the Irish midlands and the global city.

This four Saturday workshop takes a playful approach to walking and photographing Dublin, and translating those experiences into a sequenced set of black and white images. We will explore how photography, and the photobook, can be used to convey our perception of place, and everyday life.
