This photowalk introduces participants to the Ireland Analog community — a grassroots network of film enthusiasts dedicated to sharing knowledge, building community, and keeping analogue practices alive in Ireland. The walk takes place during the Dublin Street Photography Festival so we will explore the classic motifs of street photography while emphasising thoughtful, intentional shooting on film.
Participants will be guided through a series of visual prompts that encourage them to notice and play with the familiar motifs of street photography — shadows, reflections, gestures, silhouettes, repeated shapes, and fleeting interactions. Rather than focusing on the technicalities of film, the walk highlights how shooting analogue naturally encourages a slower pace, more deliberate framing, and a heightened awareness of the moment — qualities that can bring a fresh perspective to well‑worn street “clichés.”
The route begins at Photo Museum Ireland and winds through some of Dublin’s most visually lively streets before finishing in the DSPF festival area, connecting the photowalk with the wider celebration of street photography taking place throughout the city.
