Project Statement:

Every Tomorrow

Climate change has become an abstraction that few of us understand and less see as a process that we can influence. Nature doesn’t make a conscious choice about its environment but as humans we have agency to change the ways in which we impact our environment.  

Current predictions are that swathes of Dublin will be underwater by 2050. Using experimental methods to document the landscape, these images challenge our understanding of what is present and what is unknown. These images reveal the ever-present friction between the land and its inhabitants in an abstract exploration of the landscape at a critical time in our history.  

Artist Bio:

Anna Cassidy is a Dublin based photographer.  In her photographic practice she is committed to visually representing the issues that relate to both people and our landscape. With her body of work Every Tomorrow Anna uses experimental techniques to challenge our understanding of the unknown and reveal the friction between the land and its inhabitants. Anna is recent graduate of Griffith College with a BA in Photographic Media. She also has a received a University Certificate in Photography + Digital Imaging from NCAD, Dublin (2019). Anna has been longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Awards 2022.
