Explore our free digital guide on Bloomberg Connects to enhance your visit

Photo Museum Ireland is now part of Bloomberg Connects, a free digital platform used by leading museums and galleries worldwide.

Through the app, you can explore our exhibitions both in the gallery and from anywhere in the world. It offers a flexible way to engage with photography, in the gallery or from anywhere in the world.

Our digital guide brings together audio tours, artist perspectives, curatorial context and detailed imagery, opening up new ways into the work. It allows you to hear directly from artists, understand how exhibitions are shaped, and spend longer with the details that matter.

Importantly, it also supports a more accessible experience. Built-in features such as audio, captions, transcripts, zoom and adjustable text allow visitors to engage with our exhibitions in ways that suit their needs.

This forms part of our ongoing work to make photography more accessible, inclusive and widely understood by expanding how audiences connect with contemporary photography in Ireland and worldwide.

Shane Hynan: Beneath | Beofhód

In this audio journey, you will explore the stories, histories and landscapes behind Shane Hynan’s Beneath | Beofhód, a decade-long photographic project examining Ireland’s peatlands and the communities connected to them.

As you move through the exhibition, you will encounter photographs, videos and personal reflections that reveal the complex relationship between people and boglands. From the legacy of industrial peat harvesting and generations of turf cutting, to ecological restoration projects and the emergence of renewable energy infrastructure, the work traces a landscape in transition.

Through Hynan’s lens, peatlands emerge as places layered with memory, identity and change. Along the way, you will hear stories of local communities, cultural traditions, environmental challenges and the enduring connections between people and the land beneath their feet.
