We’re excited to take part in National Heritage Week 2025 – a nationwide celebration of Ireland’s rich and diverse heritage, taking place from 16–24 August. This annual event is part of the European Heritage Days programme, raising awareness of cultural, built, and natural heritage through free events for all ages. At Photo Museum Ireland, our Heritage Week programme focuses on Ireland’s photographic heritage – exploring how photography preserves memory, tells stories, and connects us to our past. Thanks to the generous support of the Heritage Council Grants Programme, we are able to offer a series of free, hands-on events that invite you to engage directly with photography’s history and creative processes.

Why Heritage Week Matters

Heritage Week is about more than looking back – it’s about engaging with our shared cultural heritage today, ensuring it’s valued, understood, and passed on. Photography is a vital part of that story, helping us remember, interpret, and reimagine the world we inherit.

We are proud to be part of this national celebration and grateful to the Heritage Council for enabling us to share Ireland’s photographic heritage with new audiences.

Venue: Photo Museum Ireland, Meeting House Square, Dublin D02 X406

All events are free – but spaces are limited, so early booking is essential.

This programme of events is part of a project supported under the Heritage Council’s grants programme in 2025.
