About Fótó na nÓg: Designed by teenagers for teenagers, the Fótó na nÓg Young Photographers Awards Programme was initiated by Gallery of Photography Ireland in 2021. It is supported by The Creative Ireland Programme / Dublin City Arts Office and is part of Cruinniú na nÓg, the nationwide celebration of creativity of young people. Photographers were invited to post images drawing on broad themes of portrait, landscape and still life study. A live online smartphone photography workshop was developed by Gallery of Photography Ireland’s Youth Voice specialist, Brian Cregan. Recorded excerpts from the live cast will be available as a downloadable resource on the Gallery’s website.
The Fótó na nÓg Jury consisted of three talented young photographers: Ala Buisir, Tobi Isaac-Irein (both of whom received the Dublin City Council Diversity Arts Commissions in 2020) and Ciara Li (Gallery of Photography’s Youth Ambassador). The Jury was facilitated by Tanya Kiang, Curator at Gallery of Photography.
