Fótó na nÓg Young Photographers Competition

Gallery of Photography Ireland is asking young photographers across the island of Ireland to share their creative vision through an exciting new photography competition. The Fótó na nÓg Young Photographers Awards Programme has been designed with teenagers for teenagers.

The deadline for entry has been extended until Monday June 6th

The Fótó na nÓg Jury will select three overall winners. The winners will be invited to a special presentation at Gallery of Photography Ireland on Saturday June 11th 2022. They will receive Certificates and framed prints of their winning images, expertly printed and framed to exhibition standards. Winners will also receive a VIP tour of the Photographers' Darkroom and Digital Photo Studio. Occupying the entire basement level of the Gallery of Photography these busy facilities are a vital resource for practicing photographers.

All you need to take part is your imagination and a smartphone.

Competition Entry Details:

What are the age limits? The competition is open to anyone aged between 13 and 18 years old (inclusive).

How do I enter? You can register for the competition and upload photographs directly from your smartphone. You can also access the Competition Portal from a computer but you will still need a mobile phone number to register.

How many photos can I enter? You can submit a maximum of 24 photographs for the Jury to consider. We would suggest that around 6 to 8 photos is a good number to aim for.

How many times can I enter? You can only enter once. If after completing your entry you wish to enter more photographs, you can do so by using a different mobile phone.

What kind of photos can I enter? You can enter photographs that you shot on a smartphone, a film camera, or a digital camera. You can also use photo editing tools and apply filters - it's your creative vision we want to see!

When does the competition close? The competition closing date has been extended until Monday June 6th 2022. The shortlisted images will be featured on the Gallery of Photography website. Winners will be notified via the mobile phone they registered with.
