Ambassador visit to PHOMI

Honoured to welcome so many esteemed ambassadors to the Museum to see our exhibition ‘Mná na hÉireann: Irish Female MEPs – Past and Present’.

During the event, women ambassadors came together to explore the portraits, with Kairi Künka, the Estonian ambassador to Dublin, drawing attention to the strength and inspiring nature of these women and their valuable contributions.

Artist Kaupo Kikkas shared stories behind the images, which mark 50 years of Ireland’s membership of the European Union this year. Through these stunning photographs, we see the evolution of attitudes regarding gender equality and the gradual increase of Irish female representation in the European Parliament.
