To mark the launch of Maria Kapajeva's new publication Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear

with Milda Books Photo Museum Ireland is hosting an online launch event and get together with the artist. To join you just have to follow the link below – no registration is needed. The event will be happening live through Zoom on 7 May starting from 6.30pm, so feel free to drop in. Those taking part will have an opportunity to chat with Maria about her work and hear from the publisher about how the book was put together.

Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear is tri-lingual publication – with texts in Estonian, Russian and English – from Milda Books, designed by Jaan Evart. It features contributions from Liisa Kaljula and Philipp Dorl. Using a multidisciplinary approach, including archival materials alongside her own images and installations, Maria Kapajeva’s Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear considers the history of the community surrounding a textile mill in Narva, Estonia, now closed, where members of the artist's family once worked. Kapajeva underlines the complex relationship between personal and public memory that together form our historical narratives. The project was supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, British Council in Estonia, A Woman’s Work/ Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and Photo Museum Ireland.

For a limited time only you can purchase Maria Kapajeva's Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear through the Photo Museum Ireland photobooks site at a specially discounted price of €25 or 2 copies for €40 (RRP €35).
