Criteria for Joining

Artist members will be required to provide a CV or other evidential material to support their application as an Artist Member for a minimum of 2 of the stated criteria.

  • Hold a third level qualification (diploma/degree) in photography/film/media or a recognised photo course

  • Have exhibited original photographic work in a public space

  • Have received grant(s) from Arts Council, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, local authority, other arts funding body for professional photographic practice (not for undergraduate training)

  • Have a membership of Visual Artists Ireland

  • Have had photography work commissioned by Government, public body or arts professional body

  • Have taught photography at a vocational level, in a professional establishment

  • Your photography work has been purchased by Government, local authority, museum or corporate client for inclusion in a recognised collection.
