Empowering Youth Through Art:

Photo Museum Ireland and Fighting Words Partner to Blend Visual and Literary Arts

Photo Museum Ireland and Fighting Words are excited to announce a dynamic series of youth workshops designed to ignite creativity and foster community engagement among young creatives. These workshops, running on selected Saturdays from July to September 2024, will be presented as a series of four online sessions, led by Photo Museum Ireland’s Education Team.

At Photo Museum Ireland, we believe in the power of photography to inspire and unite communities. This partnership with Fighting Words allows us to expand our educational outreach and make photography accessible to young creatives

The workshops invite young creatives from all over Ireland to explore the intersection of visual and literary arts. Participants will draw inspiration from Photo Museum Ireland’s rich archival collection, using these images as visual prompts to craft their own short stories.

Fighting Words are delighted to be working with Photo Museum Ireland on this exciting project and we can’t wait to see how our young people respond to the prompts

Programmes Co-ordinator, Fighting Words

This innovative initiative not only aims to nurture interdisciplinary creativity but will also empower young participants to explore their artistic potential. The series will culminate in a pop-up exhibition and audio showcase of participants’ work, celebrating their unique stories and the artistic mediums that inspired them.

Fighting Words is a creative writing organisation established in 2009 by Roddy Doyle and Seán Love in Dublin. Our aim is to help students of all ages to develop their writing skills and to explore their love of writing. All programmes are free of charge and offered in locations all over Ireland
